History

Wistful.me first started out as my fanlisting collective when I decided to not renew Hyuuga.nu. However, I felt that the name was too .. demure for something I was meant to be passionate and a mad fan over so I decided to move my fanlisting collective to ardor.me. I loved the name wistful.me and felt that this reflected my own personality a lot more than gypsy-rose.org and so I decided to move my blog to this domain.

The Name

Once, I had decided to buy a new domain, I decided that I really wanted a .ME domain extension. I also wanted a name that wasn’t related to fandom but more personal as I plan to keep this domain for a long time. Finding a name that wasn’t registered or listed as a premium domain was hard. Mostly all personal type names had been taken or were listed as a premium domain and thus could only be bought via auction. So, I went through a list of words that describe me and in the end I went with Wistful.

According to the directionary.com, wistful means:

1. Characterized by melancholy; longing; yearning.
2. Pensive, esp. in a melancholy way.

Yes, this really does describe me at times.
